On September 6th, Hainan was hit head-on by the strongest autumn typhoon to make landfall in China since the founding of the People's Republic of China, Typhoon Capricorn. The province's power grid was severely affected, especially the power infrastructure in the southern part of Haikou and the northern part of Wenchang was severely damaged. After the disaster, Southern Power Grid Corporation quickly carried out disaster relief and power restoration, fully ensuring the production and living needs of the people.
